::weekend project::

My little brother is getting married in 2 weeks! I still picture us running around playing man-hunt and building forts with my other two siblings. Stinks to get old {although I'm still building forts}. We couldn't be happier for the beautiful couple...his finance is absolutely amazing.

I spent the weekend finishing up their rehearsal dinner invitations. Since I'm not in town to help the bride-to-be with odds & ends, I was glad to do this little project for them. The wedding is Easter weekend and the rehearsal dinner will be a casual, outdoor get together of close friends and family. The decorations are fairly simple with rustic wooden baskets and colorful flowers for the center pieces and flowing purple fabric and burlap table coverings. I wanted the invitations to have that same rustic feel.

I designed the invites and had them printed on white cardstock at a local print shop. For the "handmade" touch, I sewed the cardstock onto scalloped kraft paper with brown thread. I love how they turned out. And now, I'm more excited than ever for wedding festivities.

Off to the post office.
